1. Personal identification card or another document confirming identity of the vehicle’s owner.
It is preferable for the vehicle’s owner to be present.
If the vehicle owner or co-owner is absent, an officially certified, written authorization of the absent person must be provided.
If the vehicle is registered to a company, the company documents are to be submitted (including an Entry into the Business Activity Register or the National Court Register) along with an authorization for representing the company.
2. Vehicle Registration Certificate.
If the registration certificate has been detained by the police or lost, an alternative vehicle certificate from the relevant department of communication must be presented. If the car was purchased but not registered to the new owner (registration certificate issued to the previous owner), the purchase invoice or agreement validated by the revenue office must be presented.

In addition, the vehicle should have clearly readable identification markings such as the chassis number and engine number.
Once a vehicle is accepted for scrapping the owner receives a certificate authorizing the deregistration of the vehicle.
The obligation of paying the third party liability insurance (OC) expires upon issuing the certificate; any surplus charge can be withdrawn.
